CPU Fan into the MB or Fanmate

Hi

I am using the Zalman CNPS9700-LED CPU Cooler to cool my C2D E6850
I am using the Zalman Fanmate2 fan speed controller to control the speed of the fan on the cooler, I use headphones when gamng so I can not hear the case fans, would I be better to plug the CPU cooler into the motherboard header. Would the fan then throttle to a higher speed when more demand was placed on the CPU.

If the fan is of the PWM type i.e 4 PINS it should if setup correctly in the bios sort it for you

If not then the fanmate is fine just dont turn it down to low so that the CPU does not get cooled properly.

Yes it will plug into the header on the MB - thks
