hiya i have just finshed building my first comptuer, tho i have a problems :( the cpu fan is not spinning, i have been in to the bio and it say that the cpu is only 20'c does that mean that it doe not need to spin, in the bios it say the fan is not spining so the computer know, will it only spin when it get hotter, should i try to install vista, may be more intensive and get it going

one more thing it has span round like for a second 1 or twice

Yeah, there there is a setting in the BIOS with how the fan spins. Can be set to Voltage, PWM and disabled iirc. If it is disabled then it will spin at full speed.

Just to ask an obvious question, are you sure that you have it hooked up to the CPU Fan header and not a chassis fan header?

well my part are

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler
Antec Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Intel P35
Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 2.53GHz

the cpu is at 25 degree and not spining guess not hot enough  does that sound ok

I have the same Mobo and CPU Cooler as you mate and i think what is happening is normal.

The room i have my PC in is fairly cool and the CPU fan doesnt start up until the CPU emp hits about 24-25 degrees, but it never seems to go above 600 rpm, even when under max load in prime/orthos etc.

I suppose it just means that the actual heatsink is doing a good job before it gets hot enough for the fan to kick in.

Probably worth making sure that you're mobo has the latest BIOS as well tho. I struggle with the concept of a CPU being only 20 degrees, when your room is potentially warmer than that (and clearly an air cooled CPU cannot be cooler than the air in the room! :D). It's just to make sure that the mobo is measuring the temperature ok :)
