CPU fan not spinning

When I start a works computer the cpu fan spins for around 4 seconds then stops, a warning sounds, and then when it's booted up it starts spinning again.

My question would be if I de-pin the PWM wire, is this likely to stop occuring? It should just work like a normal fan would be my thought.

You're correct. It should then just run. You won't get a warning if it stops though, although most CPUs will protect themselves when overheating

Should do, CPU will switch off in the case of a thermal limit being reach
