Have had my new build for over a week now, and have had my cpu fan setup so it only does half its max speed when the cpu temp is below 38c. But today when i turned my pc on i instantly noticed that my pc was more loud than usual. When uGuru loaded up it indeed stated that my cpu fan is now going at 1600rpm (its max speed) where it usually goes at around 800rpm. My cpu temps are as they usually are, so its not down to my cpu getting hot for some reason. No matter what i select in uGuru for fan speeds, nothing changes my fan speed and still going at max. The only thing i can think off the top of my head is, yesterday i setup Everest so it loads on windows start up and displays info on the Vista 64 Side bar, setup a home network so i can see the PC downstairs, a few Vista 64 recommended updates, oh and also installed Crysis. But i dont see how any of these could have effected my cpu fan speed, i have also cleared the coms in the bios and thats had no effect. Can anybody help??

I get this every now and again, I've got an IP35 pro as well so I'm guessing its something to do with that. Try turning your PC off and then turn your PSU off as well ,leave it for 10 secs and turn it back on, this fixes it for me, give it a try.

Well i did unistall it and reinstall it again (is the version Abit have on therer website newer than the one on the supplied CD?) but didnt seem to make a difference. I turned the pc off, unplugged all cables from rear and took the side off, uplugged the cpu fan from the mobo and plugged in again, and now back to normal, so i dont really know what the problem was!?

I pinned it down to setting the RAM timings from auto to manual, in my case 4-4-4-12, when i do this my cpu fan goes full rpm. I have to set it back to auto, and also make sure the RAM voltage is set to 2.1 volts for my Geil ram, otherwise the cpu fan still runs full speed if the volts are set to auto. Cant figure out why this happens though, ill start another thread asking
