My CPU is the Intel Pentium 4 HT 550 3.4GHz, which I think is this one: http://compare.intel.com/pcc/showchart.aspx?mmID=861658&familyID=1&culture=en-US

My PC is a Advent T11, with a MS 7046 mobo.

Basically, the CPU fan sounds like a jetfighter plane! It drives me mad!

So need a new CPU fan which is quiet. What do you reccomend, I'm not too sure which ones will fit.

Here are some pics of the current fan:

BTW, I don't overclock, so this is just asking for a new CPU fan :)

EDIT: Reading around on the net I have discovered that the heat sink becomes noisy, so instead do I need a new one of those as well?

to start with would look at taking the hood off it and clean the dust off it.

would also see if you can re route some of your cables behind the motherboard or drive cages.

what size is the fan 80/92/120mm ?

For quiet cooling, think along the lines of a large heatsink, with a wide fan. Large heatsinks with many fins (more surface area) will disperse heat more efficiently. Larger fans running at lower speeds will shift as much air as smaller fans at higher speeds, but with less noise, so look at those too. Also, using a proper quality thermal paste, like Arctic Silver 5, in a thin layer will give you better heat transmission than the stock goop that usually comes on company-built PCs.
What is the clearance between your board and the side of your case?

I didn't check the size of the fan! I'll have to open it up again.

The clearance is about 10cm or so, you see that funnel that is there in the last 2 pics, that is to let air out, the case has some vents. Will I still need this?
