I am already tired of hearing my CPU fan reving up and down when just using the computer for general use which is more or less idle apart from web pages and watching some videos which don't really make it very warm even, the CPU temp fluctuates between about low 20's to 30's under the said conditions.

So to me the fan is sensing slight changes in temps and adjusting up and down etc, it is a little annoying the noise, my case fans are near silent so they are no concern, its the stupid CPU fan for sure.

I am pretty sure I set it to manual in asus Qfan control in bios.

Question, is there a way to get the CPU fan to remain more solid and at a constant Rpm rather than this reving up and down etc ?

If so could you please say how as I cant see how ? thanks.

(main parts of my system are in my signature)

What is your case fan setup?
What specific fans are cycling up and down in speed?
What are your CPU and GPU temps?
What are your CPU and GPU cooler intake air temps?

Install Asus Fan Xpert it's pretty decent software. It detects your fans, checks for minimum / maximum supported speeds then tunes for silent / Standard / Performance settings. You can then tune each fans temperature / speed curve and set whether response times to changes are quick or slow which will help eliminate the spin-up / spin-down cycle that you're experiencing and then save your own custom profile(s).

/Edit: It should be part of the AI suite that will have come on your driver disk, or you can download the suite from Asus, you should be able to just pick the components you want if you do a custom install rather than installing all the bloatware.

/Edit: Sorry didn't see it was a Corsair cooler and you were using QFAN.

its a Fractal Node 304 case (ITX) with its two front fans ( https://www.overclockers.co.uk/fractal-design-node-304-htpc-chassis-white-ca-024-fd.html )

And simply a Corsair H80i GT sealed loop rad system but only with one fan as I am restricted to space in this tiny build which is otherwise great.
( Corsair H80i GT Hydro Cooler )

With regards the temps I am not 100% sure to find out what exactly you ask, I can however say that Aida64 tells me the cpu temps as I type this are approx 23 to 26-28-ish on the cores and that's in a room that is approx 25C warm just now with central heating on etc according to my desktop thermometer.

You may need to disable fan control on the CPU_FAN header to get the Corsair link software to work correctly.

why doesn't the bios fan control seem to hold the fan speed steady though ?

and do I disable the cpu_fan header ? and could that make it work better in the bios Qfan too ?
