I turnt my pc on when i got home from work today , got CPU Fan Error.
Ok it runs into windows fine. Fan seems to be spinning fine.

Had a look in speedfan and it says the cpu fan is 0 RPM
had a look in my bios and its showing up around 40-50k RPM.

Any ideas?

Im guessing its a mobo fault?

Kind Regards
Adam

I have had issues in the past where the fan speeds is low and the sensor picks up at stupid speeds, ie 50000 rpm!

It's probably an issue with unsigned and signed integer value representation in BIOS, no big deal, but it's definately to be ammended by BIOS programmers.

I suffer the same BTW :)

bet overclock it quick when it can cool the sun! but yea it may have come loose or just doesnt work at a certain temp

computers read fans funny when they aint spinning when they should be, its like they assume its created a black hole and is spinning at 50k rpm
