CPU Fan Speed advice?

have you plugged the fan into the right socket in the motherboard? there will be one socket for the CPU which should be a variable power output, and there may be some that simply give full power all the time.

if you do have it in the right place, then it may be that the processor is simply very hot and needs the extra cooling performance.

you could also try adding a resistor wire that forces the maximum fan speed down as well. some coolers come with them (like the Zalman CNPS 9900 MAX) but not all of them do
