cpu fan stopping

Hi
while i was using partion magic today my cpu fan stopped ,each time the program started to partion my hard drive the fan would stop and then start when it rebooted has anyone else had this type of problem my cpu idle temp is 18 deg .
GA-P35-DQ6
Q6600 GO
Tuniq Tower 120 CPU Cooler

The gigabtye boards control the fan so that its not always on. It can be changed to always be on in the bios.

I believe that when the CPU temp is below 20 the fan is switched off by that mobo.

Just installed a Gigabyte mobo myself. Switching the power on for the first time & seing the heatsink fan NOT spinning up prompted me to call Overclockers to report the supposed fault with my new CPU cooler. Looks like it catches everyone out!

18c? how that possible unless your abient room temperature is about 10c?

Yeah, when I turn my Pc on first thing (from cold) the CPU fan just flutters for a bit, almost like it saying it cant be arsed to spin. lol
As soon as it heats up it starts a whizzing. I have AMD C&Q disabled, so I assume there's another option to control this in the Bios?

Not sure how good the reading is but thats the temp on Easytune 5 and i have not started to over clock it yet just running at 2.4ghz

mobo temp readings are always off.

Change it to Legacy and PWM in the BIOS for it to spin all the time, had me flapping as well that when i first put mine together.

I use common sense. But i don't understand why its called that as its not so common in people. In my collage id say less then half the pupils have common sense lol.

run intel tat and wee what the real temps are tbh
