I have got my hands on an aerocool fan controller and I wanted to route the CPU rad fan via this to control its speed.

is this possible because I always though if there was no fan plugged intot he CPU fan header on the motherboard that you couldn't post or you would get a post error and the machine may not boot up ?

I remember having issues back in the old days when i tried this using a KT7A motherboard. The board I have got now is a MSI P67A-GD65 Intel P67 (socket 1155) Sandy bridge

The Cooler I am using is the Corsair H50 so the pump will still be connected to a header on the mobo but I want to put the fan pluged into the fan controller

Run a yellow wire from the fan to the CPU header and the remaining red and black wires to the controller. May involve a little bit of soldering and having a spare fan connector.
