I bought a Zalman CNPS7700-AICu to cool my E6600

After fitting it which was a struggle due to length of the screws... i had a search on the zalman site to make sure im not destroying my processor by the pressure i had to use... and they say its not suitable for the processor!

On the box it claims to be compatable with skt 775 though

I decided to remove it and use the stock fan after reading this.

Does anyone have any experiance with this... Is this fan just a tight fit? Are the Core2's deeper than other 775 styles?

Im having to run the stock fan noisy to keep temps down and im working with music at low levels.

Thanks

Do u know of any difference between older 775 processors and the core2 ?

On the fans packaging its compatable with 775.... Not "LGA 775".... Is there any difference?
