Download Asus Real Bench and cpuz, open cpuz and stress test with Real Bench and check cpu clock speed. Windows read the stock info off the chip so won't know about your overclock. By using a stress testing program and cpuz you can verify your overclock.
Processors will slow down at idle to save power.
You should find that under full load the clockspeed raises.
In some places windows will say the stock speed of the chip as part of the name of the chip, not an actual measurement of speed.
CPU-Z will even have this, you need to look in the right boxes.
Run both realbench and CPU-Z at once and post a screenshot.
