Hi everyone,

I have as ASUS ROG Strix G614JV. I purchased it in September 2023 and has been great up until the last few months. I use it mainly for Microsoft Flight Simulator and Forza. I cant pinpoint exactly when but it has started to fluctuate in FPS during games but in a bit of a strange way. Below is video on Flight simulator on pause showing FPS, CPU usage etc. Nothing is red in task manager and nothing appears to be getting very hot. I have just re formatted and re installed everything but it remains the same. I'm a bit out of my depth when it come to further fault isolation!

Any help much appreciated!

Hi,

Thanks for your reply and advice. I used the program you suggested and it looks like a driver issue or BIOS setup.

Ive just reinstalled windows, only only driver i installed myself was the nvidia graphics card (latest driver) one so is it more likely to be a BIOS issue?

Thanks again,

Paul

Ive updated to the latest bios firmware using the EZ flash utility and the windows installer. Fault is still there. I don't seem to be able to install an earlier version of the bios, EZ flash just says the file isn't a firmware file when i select on older version. Has anyone had any experience of this with ASUS?

When the issue started did anything else happen at the same time like Windows updates?

Was Windows fully up to date?

Could be an issue with 24H2? 24H2 has so many issues with software and certain games etc

Could try installing Windows 11 23H2 and do a clean install. The current version from Microsoft would be 24H2 but there is other sites that can supply 23H2 using the Microsoft servers.

Just make sure you do not update to 24H2 once Windows is up and running.

Based on what im seeing online, it could be the CPU/memory controller.

It's a 13th gen CPU. Seems to be a lot of problems with latency and wdf01000.sys. Been down a 2 hour rabbit hole with no success! I might look in to claiming on the manufacturers warranty
