hey all i have been reading around about whats due this year and im still confused as to pricing and whats good to wait for.
im currently struggling in al games on a dual core and would very much like a new one by may 2010.it has to last and is purely for gaming, what ****es me off most about cpu's right now is the ability to struggle in games like crysis, arma II, bad company 2 and whatever else is due in 2010 like the new crysis engine.

a core i7 @ 4.00GHZ and a GTX 295 gets 50fps in GTA IV and there is still talk about being cpu bound.i had my eye on a i7 @ 4.0-4.2 and a 5870 but now im not so convinced on the i7 bit.
i find it doubtful any worthwhile amd cpus will come in 2010, they have 6 cores due but can anyoone really see it pushing out the core i7?
also whats the deal with the 6 core intel i9's being extreme editions? no mainstream cpu's?
i know some will say u dont need more than 4 cores but i disagree having watched us go from 2-4 its only a matter of time and right now with high end gaming requirements id rather be safe than sorry.id very much like to build a rig that can finally play crysis @ 1080p max with 4x AA 16xAF with 60fps 90% of the time.
