Who do the best cpus's for number crunching and photo editing and the sorts now? Ive found a 4.2ghz amd for £105 which i imagine would be very good but the price says otherwise?
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.
Nah Intel CPU's have always been better at Number Crunching. Look at some Super PI scores. Intel is usually twice as quick as it's equivalent AMD counterpart.
I don't get why you posted that image when it's a well known fact Intel CPU's are way better for what the OP wants...
Yes its correct Intel cpu's have a greater ipc and are are more than likely better for op's needs however using superpi to show this is the fail.
Forgive me if I'm wrong but I thought Super Pi performed calculations of numbers. Surely the better scores from Intel CPU's prove what I said.
Using outdated code it has very little relevance to any modern real world usage.
Well it was hardly worthy of a facepalm. I still believe it shows that Intel CPU's are much stronger at calculations but whatever trevor.
All it shows is that Intel cpu's are faster at crunching numbers with an outdated instruction set which I highly doubt op will be using.
I'd bet it would show the same results on a modern instruction set anyway...
