I currently have a i5-2320 running at 3GHZ, and was thinking of maybe upgrading? I normally play MMO's and have a Gigabyte 7850 2GB.

Is it worth while upgrading? And if so, what too? I only have a 500w PSU aswell, would I have to upgrade that aswell?

Thanks!

Depending on my your motherboard can overclock K-series of the i5/i7. I play lots of mmos as well, and even with my i5 2500K overclocked to 4.6GHz, in Guild Wars 2 it would dip to 28fps with GPU usage on my 5850 dropped to around 60% in some instance. I would have to say for mmos, the faster the better when it comes to CPU.

Not sure how confident I would be in trying to overclock lol!

It's much easier than what it used to be. For the 2500K/3570K processors there are many guides on the internet walking and talking you through the whole thing:)

Your processor is still decent and a upgrade may not be cost effective. I'd personally wait till Haswell and there should be benchmarks with your (or similar) processor released so you can see the difference between them. You would need a new motherboard but I don't think a new Sandy or Ivy bridge would be worth the price, unless you can find a cheap second hand one.

Cheers mate! I was just thinking about it, as I may have a few extra pounds this month, and was considering it!
