Looking to build a rig to go with a 1660 PC I already own, currently in an eGPU paired with my XPS 13 8th Gen i7. The monitor is a 1440p 75hz Acer. Ideally I'd like to game at this level but the current set up performance isn't great but I'm guessing that's possibly due to the loss over Thunderbolt 3.
Planning to then sell the XPS and get a Samsung tab.
Is it worth building a separate rig to go with the 1660 for the gains and if so what CPU should I go with? Cheers.
 
Thanks all, will have a look into the different options. Ideally I didn't want to spend over £400 but could move a bit if it's a big step up.
