Originally I was wanting to build a file server (used for important data to be backed up and to store my media files) but I am thinking of maybe building a HTPC/File Server combo.
The only component(s) I am not really sure on are the CPU (and possibly GPU). Ideally I want something that runs using low power but is powerful enough to play 1080p videos (I know I can't get the best of both worlds).
I've heard a lot about AMD's APU (which would remove need for graphics card) but I'm not sure how suitable they would be or if would be overkill.
I'm not that up to date with what CPU offerings there are at the moment, so any help would be appreciated.
