CPU for Shuttle SN78SH7

Hi Guys,

I am a little out of touch with AMD CPU's and cannot remember the details from this era. I currently run with an Athlon 64 x2 4850e in my media PC. I thought I could give it a bit of a boost by upgrading to a Phenom II which is listed as supported, however I am not sure how up to date the compatibility list, and would like to know if others are covered. If someone had a moment to point me in the right direction (e.g. any AM2+ should be ok) it would be much appreciated.

Being AM2+ a Phenom II 965 is the best you are going to get. Don't go spending a fortune on one either. I have seen them still reaching silly prices.

Thanks, I wasn't thinking of spending much. Debating if x4 is even worth it. The x2's go for around £15 for the same core speed as a £35-£40 x4
