cpu Frequency setting in bios??

My bios has a lot of ‘auto settings’ and i’m having to check and change some due to vista not installing. What should the cpu Frequency be set to for an AMD x2 5000+ chips?

what overclock do you want?

Probably 200mhz for stock speed.

just want stock speed at the mo, until i get over this issue of vista not installing. however this chip comes unlocked acording to ocuk, so is that you change? when cranking it up?

you can do but you can also change your multiplier if you have th eblack edition of the 5000.

stock speed is 200mhz (cpu frequency) x 13 (cpu multiplier) = 2.6ghz

you can change either to overclock but you will need to have a play and see what works best.

yeah it's the black edition. so what would be a good first time overclock then? a slow but sure increase?

try the multi at 14 instead of 13 and see how it goes
