CPU heat issue or normal?

So ive had an i5 11400f for a few months now and im not sure if its always happened or im only just noticing it..
but my CPU seems to heat up which ofcourse makes the fans ramp up, when im just scrolling youtube for example

it only happens for a few seconds but its just annoying hearing the fans ramp up
i have my own fan curve set up so its near silent at idle which is around 35C, but for whatever reason temps are spiking to around 50C when im scrolling and the youtube videos are popping in

ive re-installed my cooler to make sure nothing was loose etc and redone the paste so im sure thats not the issue

any ideas?

What Temperature Hysteresis options to you have? Ideally there should be some option to allow such temperature spikes to be ignored for a certain time.

Alternative would be to move your ramp up point above the 50C spike (and maybe increase your idle speed slightly to help compensate)

Edit:
ArgusMonitor can do it if your motherboard can't (e.g. via CPU Temperature Averaged over last 10 seconds)

Well I would set the fan curve on near Idle to a higher speed ,experiment, because i reckon the fan curve is set too low and because of that you're hearing the ramping up.. you need a compromise between the two fan speeds. Idle and ramping up.

I was using MSI's own software for fan control but it didnt include any temp hysteresis so ive switched to a different one with more options and managed to stabilize things better, thanks for the suggestion :)

i would still like to know why the temp is spiking like that though, i mean its only when im scrolling a page and the video thumbnail has to load in, which is only like a second so its not a massive issue.. just one of those things that will bug me
it could be a setting in Chrome or something, i will have to try other browsers and see if its the same

it could just be that its using my cpu as it should, which causes it to boost to its max Mhz and so it gets hot.. which thinking about it, that probably is the answer lol
i just want to make sure its 'normal' and not some issue

pretty much

5800X was especially prone to "run hot while browsing" due to this. There used to be a new topic every week asking "why my fan so loud 5800X" same as you
very agressive boosting only on one or couple cores, temp spikes, fan speed spikes. Even if overall CPU power is not that high.

What cooler do you use?
Yes 5800x do boost - I found that with my 3700x it would just ramp up on simple tasks and bought a Dark Rock Cooler which doesn't sound so obvious now as it's a lot quieter and cooler than my wraith that I was using before.

I use a hyper 212 BE and i have an i5 11400f

but cooling isnt really the issue, my temps are generally fine.. its just those spikes while browsing youtube etc
i think its what i said about it boosting and therefore getting hotter since @alec said that the 5800x does the same thing

i have changed up the fan curves so im not getting the fans ramping up while on youtube or whatever now so its no longer noticeable
the main thing i wanted to know is whether its an issue or just something normal, which i now think its just normal

oh yeah normal mate :)

You probably set your fan curve to go to 100% at 50c.
Iv got mine to start at 30% at 30c then go to 100% at 87c
Only time i hear the fans is when running prime95 or cinebench

nah i had them at 50% at 50c , ive got it sorted now though but thanks for the input

ill have to do some testing but i think ive got a good balance between temps and noise now, thanks all for the help
