hello.

I am running a amd phenom ii x2 550 be.

with the stock cooler, it idled at 30-35c. no issues. but when gaming it reached 60-70.

so I managed to get a freezer pro 64 cpu cooler.

I put it on, and now, as soon as it boots to windows, the cpu is at 72c and climbing.. I turned it off instantly and checked everything, I cleaned cpu, and heatsink, put new thermal compound on then tried again..i didn't go to windows this time, I went into bios and checked temp there.. 10 seconds after getting into bios.. the cpu was already at 55c... and was climbing 1c every second ..

can anyone explain this.. I have a huge cooler, its mounted correctly, but yet, the temp is higher ?

any help to solve this confusing issue would be great :D

i guess i will have to look out for a new cooler... any got any suggestions.. no bigger than a freezer pro 64 though as it fits perfect in my case.. and i mean, just! lol

cheers guys :)

i only put abit on, bout the size of a pea, and i used a spreader card to cover the cpu, then i mounted the cooler.

Nope, take it all off again from both the Cpu and cooler. And put a pea size dot in middle of Cpu, now install the cooler on top and tighten corner to corner equal amount and never over tighten.

what do you mean tighten ?, this one dosnt have anything to tighten lol, its like a standered cpu cooler with a latch you pull from one side to the other ?

now im condfused lol

Ignore the tighten part, was thinking your cooler screwed into place.
Still follow the paste part though. It's the best method because the Cpu cooler does the smoothing out.

If they fit your Board Corsair H100 and H80 are very good. I know they work for both intel and amd just not sure about yours.

hi, id love one of them, but wasnt sure myself, i do have space for a 120mm fan in my case, so a h80 should fit, would just take some cable managment lol, this case isnt very big :D

think im going to stick with the stock for now, and see about getting a h80 later. i need other things first like a FX6300 :D lol

well, thats next on the list anyway.

cheers :)
