The stock cooler on my 6200 is really annoying me so I've decided to splash out on a 'Super Cooler' for it.

Budget £60. I'm currently thinking K2 Mount Doom as it comes out as one of the top heatsinks.

I don't like water cause I just don't trust it, so don't advise me to go there.

I could probably spend less to keep this processor cool but it would be a good buy to get a super cooler for future upgrades.

So, what do you think. K2 or something else.

Oh, and BTW I only have 158mm max on this case. But I will be moving to a Carbide 540 soon (170mm max) so I will just mod this one to make any cooler fit.

Thanks :)

My finished computer will be black/blue with a touch of white to lighten the place up.
So I don't want any brown stains from Noctua ruining my look :P

Yeah, the cooler is a beast, my friend has it. Noctua should've really thought about their fan colours, I bet they've lost out on a lot of revenue due to having brown fans xD

Thanks, good to know it does the job. Also, a good cooler nowadays is probably gonna be good for a long time. I dont think they could really be many advancements in heatsink technology. But you never know :P

Both those fans look awesome, although you ain't really gonna see them. The specs are better than the stock. Using 2 or 3 120mm fans on any air cooler would increase the pressure and increase the cooling performance (in theory) so i wonder why most heatsinks have 140mm fans in the center.

It was a pain to fit, and I couldn't get the top fan bracket on for the middle fan properly.
But it works very well. 20 degrees drop at 4GHz on the fx-6200.
Surprisingly it fits my case and just lightly touches the door.

Turns out image shack wanted to rotate that image the wrong way :(

The 120 is on the front :)
I'll also look at getting some better fans when I get a new case. They need to match a black/blue theme that I will be working towards. It's a bit of a mix of colours atm
