CPU Help!!!

Ive tried using AMD over drive today to OC my 3.2 ghz Phenom II x2 555 BE CPU, turned on cpuz and noticed something strange

Under Clocks (Core#0)
Core Speed where it shown me 3.2ghz today, it now shows me 800mhz
Multiplier x4.

Why did it change fom 3.2 to 800 mhz ?! whats wrong ??

AMD cool 'n' quiet?

Slows down CPU to save power when idle.

Stress the CPU and the speed should jump back up.

If you want it at full tilt all the time disable cool'n'quiet and set the windows power profile to 'performance'.

Yep, it's perfectly normal and doing exactly what it's supposed to do. Cool & Quiet saves you money anyway, it'll use less power when it doesn't need to run full tilt so I wouldn't recommend turning it off. The only time I would advocate that is for a very specific reason, like when trying to stabilise the cpu at higher overclocked frequencies, where it can help.
