I have at the moment an i5 2400k and i want to stream bf4 and the new hardline to twitch. My cpu struggles with playing and streaming together. What would be the best cpu 1155 to go for ?.
Thanks

You could drop in an i7 26/700k or if your board is suitable, an i7 3770k. For the latter you will need to flash the boards bios to an updated version that supports ivy bridge cpu's.

op is on 1155 so that rules out the 4790k as it would mean a motherboard upgrade to 1150 too.

Just out of interest how much memory are you running and what GPU? Because I know a lot of streamers running I5's who dont have any problems streaming, especially fast paced FPS games.
I recently struggled to stream Fallout NV until I realized that 4gb of memory just wouldnt cut it for streaming and had to upgrade.

Do you have a cooler also? As setter suggested, grab yourself a 3770k, 2600k or 2700k for about £110, if you don't have a cooler get a cheapo Raijintek Themis and clock the nuts out of them. Almost 4790k performance for, well.... peanuts.

What are your OBS settings? If you don't mind sacrificing a little quality (that you can make up a little for with high bitrate) then I bet we can get it to play and stream fine.
