Hey Peeps had a Great response last time regarding upgrading my graphics card and i am now looking at the 4070 super so thanks for that. My next question is i have this Mobo

MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge WiFi (AMD AM4) DDR4 X570 Chipset ATX Motherboard​

i have a AMD Ryzen 9 3900X is there CPU on here that i can get to upgrade without upgrading my Mobo as well

You can get the 5xxx series CPUs. The generation after that goes to AM5 socket. I would probably opt for the 5800X3D.

Is this only for gaming? While the gaming performance of the 5800X3D is excellent, in heavily multithreaded apps it actually performs worse than what you have.

You will probably need a bios update to run the 5xxx CPUs, that should be all though.

You will need to update the bios on your motherboard depending how old so the 5800x3d will work
