Hi, first off i wasnt sure to post here or in a different part.
sorry if im in the wrong place,

Basically my cpu temps are saying 100c + - nothing below 90c. the computer is a year old this month 4th of march. all parts brought from overclockers. running an i7 7700k with a nzxt x42 aio cooler. Now this morning i was getting 25-30c max cpu temp. like i have from day one of building this pc. Now after a day out iv turnt my computer on and temps are massive. like i say. 90s+ and right now its saying 100c in CAM and in CORE TEMP. The computer isnt throttling or shuting down. which is odd, iv reapplied thermal paste to the cooler/cpu and nothing changes. tubes to the pump and tank are fine. no leaking or overheating there ether. im extremely confused.

Any help would be very grateful.

thanks

Iv never hit this temp before since owning this PC, also its constant. not going up to 100 then dropping it stays there. even idle. not gaming or anything else.

Hmmm the raidator feels very cold as the fan are spinning overtime. you know of anyway to find out if the pump is working still? shouldnt my PC shutdown or throttle down at 100c though?

Load into your bios and see what temp that is reporting, in case of an erroneous reading. To check your pump see what cam is reporting for pump speed. I would be tempted to say it's a pump failure.

Can you not feel any vibration from the pump if you put a finger on the casing?
Has the power cable become loose?
Would think if the pump was working, one tube would be warm and the other cold.
Not sure about the throttle/shutdown issue.

Your pump isn't working. It's within warranty so you can expect it to be replaced. Don't turn your computer on until you've got a working heatsink. I think 105C is the magic number for intel CPUs to shutdown.

As others have said the pump appears to have failed, time to whip it off and put the Intel stock cooler back on (if it's overclocked save your settings and dial the BIOS settings back to default) until you get it replaced.

thought it was a given to be honest

No, its not, assuming it is is potentially not much use to him, no one is born knowing how to assemble an NZXT AIO in such a way that the software will work, or that it has software at all. If he knew that he wouldn't have needed to make this post.

so rtfm is still a thing, the manual which is the first thing that pops out the box.

Well for a start not everyone reads the manual, NZXT AIO's don't need the USB headers to work, they also have a 4 pin PWM for the pump, i don't even have the USB attached to my Motherboard, i don't use CAM and connecting the cable is just more rubber specialty to tidy.

He made the post, if he had the CAM software up and running he must have set it up like that which means he's using it, in which case he would know about the Pump RPM, so the chances are he doesn't but even if he did whats the harm in telling him about it? is it not better to tell him about it even if he already knows as opposed to not telling him and he doesn't?
