CPU HSF - Remove mobo or not.

Hi all,

I want to add a HSF for when i start OC'ing and wanted one like the stock one i have where you just push the pegs into the board.

I was going to get the tuniq tower but read that you have to put a support bracket on the back of the mobo to screw into.

Is there any good ones which you dont have to do this with? I.e. just push into the mobo like the stock ones? So i dont have to remove the mobo when installing.

The Artic Cooling freezer 7 pro has the same atachments as the stock and is decent cooler for OC'ing

tbh I found my ultra-120 a lot easier to install even tho it has a backplate than the "stock" heatsink

The Thermaltake Big Typhoon VX is the best performing cooler that you can get that uses the Intel standard push pins.

I'm after a CPU cooler but i cannot stand the push pins i dont know why but on my mobo its hell to do i had to get leverage after about 30mins of trying and omg did my hands hurt after that lol.

So which HSF would you suggest (I hope you don't mind me hijacking the thread )

Tuniq tower 120, seems to be one of the best out their, along with all the recommendations on this forum for it. Big big tho, so may want to check that it will fit in your case.

Looks good i think it would fit in my case (Lian-Li V1000) but im not too sure if it would fit on my mobo. It has really good heatpipe cooling but its so big on my gigabyte p35 DQ6

maybe a thermalright ultra-120 and a 120mm fan if not the tuniq tower. if the ultra-120 doesnt fit then the ultima-90i should.

I cant understand why people have an issue with the intel push pin system, push pin to secure, twist pin to remove.
