Is there a chart anywhere that lists at what stage a CPU becomes CPU limited to the GPU?
During some testing last night, I whipped out a 5770 from a Q6600 currently running at stock, and replaced it with a 7950, (removing prev drivers, ccleaner, re-install etc)
However and admitedly i didn't go all out in benchmarking.. But games like F1 2010, was still only mustering 45FPS on ultra. Basically no real improvement to my 5770, even though the 7950 is what 6x more powerful?
So cutting a long story short, it was my CPU holding everything back.
Anyway, is there a chart anywhere ? Cos I'm sure people are overspending on their GPU's and x-firing to not get any real improvement.
