CPU, MB and Ram upgrade advise...

Yes it is the beta bios but it should be fine. I haven't had any problems with beta bios from Gigabyte before and it's likely to be the last one they ever make for the board anyway.

Well its on and now running stock clocks. I'll give it a while and see if it does it again. Will report back here. Cheers guys :)

Well its been 2 weeks now on the new bios and stock clocks on the cpu and gpu and its been perfect :)

Tonight I've put on the gpu overclock. I'll test that for 2 weeks before slowing increasing the cpu overclock till its stable.

Cheers guys.

Glad it worked. Saves quite a few Bob :)
Yes me too! Wonder why it was 100% stable once it was on and only failed when booting?

Maybe because of the power delivery of the board. It's not really designed for overclocking is it. I was on 4.7 @ 1.285v.

Probably because the capacitors are aging. So power delivery gets a bit less tight, so it becomes unstable. Probably more apparent during boot I suspect
