this is a stability question...

my cpu is at 3.2 (400x8) @ 1.425v and can happily do a 12 hour orthos small fft stint...

the ram is at 800MHz (4-4-4-12), so exactly what it says on the tin (can't get it any higher which is really disappointing for ballistix :(

anyway, like i said, orthos small fft is all good, and memtest will run a night with no errors, but orthos blend will fail within 30 mins... how on earth does that make sense?

i caan't believe i've got a bad overclocking cpu, some ram that wont budge above stock, and i'm on my third motherboard cuz of faults :(

chipset was set to 1.45 i think (dont really know what this should be i went off that dfi dark tweaking guide someone did) - and my ram is at the specified 2.2

isnt that really pushing it for NB voltage? when i used to have a DS3P most people put it to +0.1v (which would be 1.35v) and that always seemed to do the trick...

do you think thats where the instability lies? it doesn't add up why seperately they are rock but together they're about as stable as a one legged giraffe...

naah its just generally crap at overclocking, on all three motherboards i've had i just think i've been very unlucky with all my components...

in terms of lowering the overclock, i used to run at 3.4 gig but it was just too hot for my liking, stable, but too hot, so this was the reduction...

i'll give the northbridge a punt at 1.5
