hi all :)

ive got a dualcore 4400 cpu
7900gs
1 gig of ram
asrockdualsata2 mobo
all from overclockers -the ram

heres my problem im trying to overclock my cpu upto now ive got 2.56 ghz(stock 2.2)but for it to stay at 2.56ghz my mem goes to ddr266 mode when its capable of doing ddr400 is there a way to solve this and make it possible to overclcock and use ddr400 aswell i can really do with some1s help on the matter please thx :)

knock your cpu multi down to 10 from 11, run you ram on the 166 divider and set the fsb to 256mhz, your ram will run just shy of ddr400. make sure your ht bus multi is set to 4x.
up the vcore a tad, (could go max with your dual sata 2 as its vcore max is only 1.45-1.5v) and you maybe able to run the cpu at 2.6ghz and ram dead on 200fsb (ddr400)

Read the sticky thread, it explains quite a lot in regard to OC'ing.

Can you change volts on that board or is that the one that has locked volts?....

You might need to set the htt to 3x with the FSB you want as it will go over 1000MHz over 250MHz FSB. I know the socket 939 mobo's I`ve got don't like the htt to be over 1000 whatsoever, even a little bit it might crash. The Asrock Dual Sata 2 will allow you to set the vcore to 1.45v max I think without a volt mod.

im using the latest bios for this dualsata2 mobo and it only lets me set the voltage at 1.400???

will that be enough ?

tryed that m8 done all trhe above settings you mentioned but there was no option in my bios to change ht bus to x3 where will this be or is it under a different name in this dualsata2 mobo

sorry for the newb questions :eek:

after reading some threads on another forum heres what i done and it seems ok up to now at 2.59ghz cant get much more

nb link speed=200mhz
sb link speed =200mhz
pci-e frequency=100(same)
cpu voltage=1.374
memory clock to 133(thats the problem i wanted to stop seems as though i cant get my memory in ddr400 mode???? any help on this will be greatly appreiciated )
fsb=235

total of 2.59ghz best i could do you a headsint fan that come with the cpu

if any1 could help me out hear please on getting my memory back to ddr400 id be very very grateful thx :)

dude your settings are still way wrong, your running your nb link at 1X! and your ram on the 133 divider, your underclocking every thing bar the cpu!

Goto “Advanced” menu >> “Chipset Configuration”
You’ll find CPU-NB Link Speed, setting
1000MHz = 5X
800MHz = 4X
600MHz = 3X
400MHz = 2X
200MHz = 1X

manually set it to 600MHz (3X) for 250mhz+

and setup as I stated on my 1st post, your still on the 11 multi.

I really think you should read into overclocking an a64 system before you start messing, it easy but theres still things you got to know and understand.

your temps are fine, I doubt they would have gone up anyway, you have the later bios flash that lets you run no more than stock vcore.
