Hi,

Just having a look at CPUZ and it looks all wrong to me.

I have a Gigabyte P35-DQ6 / Q6600 at Stock, 8GB OCZ 8500 DDR2 Memory. The motherboard didn't get the timings correct so entered this manually and it seems fine. Just that CPUZ doesn't think it is so after a little advice on what to change.

Screenshots below:

Does this look right?

Right now changed the settings and get:

The only thing I'd like to know is why it detects it as 6400 when it's 8500 memory.

Any ideas?

6400 is stock speed - 8500 is outside of the recognised standard JDEC speeds so the SPD is programmed to read a 6400 part CAPABLE of 8500. This ensures that the RAM will boot in boards NOT capable of running RAM at 1066MHz. Sort of like a safe mode :D Note the EPP box stating 533MHz on your CPUz screenie. Thats "Enhanced Performance Profiles (EPP). 533 x 2 (DDR) = 1066 (=8500).

;)

The Memory tab is the one you should be looking at. It tells you what the memory is currently set to.
