CPU, MOBO and RAM combo!

Thought it was for a split second.

Cheap-as shopping spree. Go for it buddy.

I will buy the mobo first, then the CPU, then case, then RAM, or the case last :)
I already have a rubbish ATX case, but I need a PSU, but Im gonna get one of the MM or sumthing

Should I get 8gb RAM straight away? Because I was thinking of getting 4gb, then upgrading too 16gb, when it's needed?
Also, later on I will buy a cheap i5 2500k/ i7 2600k :)
Will that CPU be OK, for now ?

I always say to get what you can afford - most people would probably say that 8gb isn't needed - but I like to have it anyway :)

What are you mainly going to use the system for?

Missed your reply, but was also hoping someone else could comment. Where is Surveyor when you need him :)

If it were me I would go for 8Gb, it future proofs your system a little more and could be useful for some of the latest games.

Ok, thanks
I will get 8gb, especially at £40 for the patriot RAM. And It matches my colour scheme :)

That mobo is B grade so it might be missing the sata cables, SLI bridge or whatever accessories come with the mobo. You get a much shorter warranty with B grade but im sure you know all this already.

I would go with 8GB of RAM too. The Geil RAM is on offer at the mo and that would look nice on this mobo you found. It's low profile the patriot RAM is much taller so fitting big aircoolers can be a faff....so go with the LP RAM

I have a lot of SATA cables, and is there any 'decent' windowed case with good cable management? Under £70?

EDIT2: The Z9, or I will get the Z11! :)

Something like that then to build towards, having reading your last post. 650/700W is a good round number to Xfire/Sli midrange GPUs. 500W wont be enough for 2 460s. Better to have more incase you decide to get a better GPU than the 460 ;)

The Z9 is a great budget case. Lots of fans, fan controller, digital temp display and P4/8 power extension cable :)
