Hey folks. Could use your guidance here. I've been slowly upgrading my PC as and when the mood struck me. So far I've upped the PSU, RAM, GPU and the monitor. It's probably time to look at the MOBO and CPU.

At the moment I've got a Phenom 965 BE (I know) and a motherboard just as old.

I pretty much only use it for gaming. Budget is around 200-250 but preferably nearer to the 200 range.

What could I get which would be a decent upgrade from what I've got?

I'm liking the AMD suggestions. Just a quick question, would there be a noticable difference between the CPU suggested above and my current CPU?

I suppose it's a standard question on here but it still is worth asking

Id say you'd notice a fair amount,

Take a look here: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/102?vs=698

And heres a BF4 comparison (use the 8350 and 955 results)

Let's say £50 max. I've always just picked up the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 for around 20 but as it's Christmas ....

For a case I have the CM HAF 912. It's fairly big

I'm going for the Akasa Venom Voodoo. If anyone have any objections, let's hear them :p

Its a decent cooler though the fans are pretty loud at full pelt (appearently, from what i've heard off others) and i think its a little overpriced, though it does come with 2 fans..

My personal opinion would be go for a £30 cooler, like the Matterhorn or the 412s.

Just ordered everything. I've gone with the CM 412 as it reviews pretty well too. In fact, I've gone for everything you've suggested Doomedspeed. :)

Look forward trying it out
