oh yea i will be using it for everything, games, internet, photoshopping probably, watching videos, listening to music etc.

Would be very helpful if you gave a budget and explained what parts you have already and what they are, ie. do you have an AGP or PCI-E graphics card you plan to use.

ok well i have said core 2 duo so that has to have a pci-e mobo. as already said I NEED a cpu (core 2 duo), mobo (pci-e), memory (no idea about it so yous decide), psu (whatever is required) and a graphics card (nvidia probably need it for playing good ol' first person shooters like css, bf2, bf2142 and all the new ones like just cause). AND i already have case, optical drives, hard drives, monitor, keyboard and mouse. i don't know a budget yet just within reason

ok so heres like a great system....

if its too expensive as I dont know your budget:

downgrade:

a) gfx card
b) put RAM to 1g altho those games you mention like at 1.4g
c) get a cheaper mobo like the asrock, wont help when overclocking
d) get an arctic pro 7 cooler as i believe they are cheaper

Hope that helps...

Ive suggested like the best there in terms for bang for buck....so feel free to downgrade...

Thats why you need a budget, whats too much for you might be peanuts for the next person.

No budget, no spec, wasting time imo........

Allocate an amount, and everyone will jump in and help, just see the 1000000000000 other 'spec me' threads.....

Good rule of thumb though, don't skimp on anything....... £1000 system with a cheapo psu £25 for example.

£600 is a good all round budget.

well im sorry if you all think that near 350 quid seem reasonable for a graphics card well i will tell you all you are being had at that price. is the Ds4 not better?

Dear Chuds,

Frankily your approach to "requesting help and advice for a pc spec" is awful.
Let me remind you for a second that individuals throughout this forum offer their expert advice and assitance for FREE. They have been playing with these "toys" for many years along the line and like to get straight to the point "i.e. what the hell is your budget" as there are other people like yourself seeking help and advice, so therefore they attempt to help as many people as possible in a short space of time, IRRESPECTIVE of their attitude.

Moreover, the reason I recommended such an advanced spec because deep down over the months / years I have been here I have come across many individuals like yourself who "try to act smart, trying to be save money when its unnecessary" as you are SEEKING help BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY the majority of individuals recommending pc hardware and software to purchase suggest "bang for buck components" . THEY DO NOT SUGGEST THE EXPENSIVEST parts as they are not always required.

Also, please note the mere fact you deem "£350 inappropiate for a graphics card" excessive is irrelevant, the only reason I suggested it once again REPEAT as I knew you would respond in the way you have done so. Hoping that whichever forum you register too and seek advice your requests are "short and sweet" NOT FORGETTING to personally ASSIST forum users in anyway you can which means A) SUGGESTING A BUDGET B) ADVISING WHAT YOU USE YOUR PC FOR C) CONFIRMING WHETHER YOU WILL BE OVERCLOCKING.......Failure to comply and being smart so you "feel you a getting a really good deal" is irrelevant BECAUSE INDIVIDUALS WILL NOT RECOMMEND HIGH PRICED PARTS UNLESS THEY DO NOT HAVE A BUDGET TO FOLLOW!!!!! your method and ideals of how to seek advice are wrong because you are wasting not only your time but other peoples time who could be assiting people who are informative, precise and accurate with help they require...

Furthermore, if you can get the graphics card cheaper then please show me the way, just because you dont think its worth it or you believe people are being HAD means nothing at all......dont you think that the mere fact they are available and at that price MEANS THEIR IS A MARKET???

Lastly, I would like to say how grateful I am for your note of thanks for me TAKING MY TIME TO HELP YOU, even tho your request was unspecific, trying to be a smartass and very mediocre!!!

I hope you find what you are looking for but then OCUK dont upgrade bad attitudes or ungrateful behaviour

Ciao

Dear xirokx...sory Ciao,
are you getting straight to the point? NO. have you offered your 'expert advice? NO. are you wasting my time? YES. ok so stop wasting my time. the reason i came here to ask you about a computer was to ask yous what sort of price i would have to spend to meet the requirements, but obviously with all your expert knowledge you still couldn't figure that out. what i recommend you to do is to get out a little stop being sarcastic ***** and pretending you are all better than non geeks and lets face it i think all the non geeks out there UNLIKE you are better than you. so if you don't want to answer my question DON'T so don't reply to this unless you want to recommend me some hardware and tell my what the minium amount i will have to spend to get a computer that will provide me with all the needs i have stated above.

as for you Ciao don't even reply don't ever reply in any of my threads, understood?
