Hi all,

im looking to do a bit of an upgrade on my computer, ive got £250 to £300 to spend.

Ive currently got a Pentium D processor, running at 3.8ghz, 2GB RAM and IP35-e M/B.

Will I notice much of an improvement for this amount of money?

I do a bit of gaming, a bit of video encoding although nothing too serious.

Thanks in advance!

Drop in a second hand Q6600 for around £80 add a decent cooler and get clocking. Even a stock C2D would make mincemeat out of your Pentium D so a Q6600 would be a major boost.

Check out the components in my sig. i got the mobo for thirty, cpu for fifty and the ram was 90£. i also got the xfx for 60£. so 230 for a system that can manage jusy abt anything.....
