Another question after i installed ssd i notice that cpu is constantly at 4.6 ghz and doesn't clock down to idle on desktop any idea how to fix it ? using 840 evo

thank you

did you run the magician software on the evo and select optimise os and change the SSD for performance? (or any of the other options)

this changes all the power saving settings so windows might have had the settings changed to not idle the cpu

check the processor power management under the power options

go to control panel, click on power options and then you will see your active option, if its been ran under the magician software you will see one called Samsung.

click on change plan settings on the right and then change advance power settings down the bottom left, you will see a section for the CPU which is called processor power management

the restoration tool I something to stop slow down of old data as the evos suffer from this even though its not all of them but I ran it on mine to be on the safe side.

you can download the file from here

http://www.samsung.com/global/busin...tware/Samsung_Performance_Restoration_V11.zip

my firmware version is EXTOCB6Q, if you install the software its a option on the left, update the firmware before running the restoration tool.

did you change anything in your bios to do with power saving settings as this can be controlled by the bios as well as power saving in windows

power saving is back to normal as i did the ting you told me and seen it as it was set at samsung instead windows balanced mode , was watching video about restoration tool will do it tommorow just to be on safe side i guess
