Baring in mind coming from a 3770k anything modern will be a massive bump in performance
It's my birthday this week so I'm looking at treating myself to something to keep my 3090 fed
I want am5 don't want to go into a dead platform.
Majority of use is gaming.
I missed the 30seconds of preorder availability of the 9800x3d and refuse to pay the current prices of the 7800x3d given it should have dropped in price now it's been released not gone back up
I'm looking at the asrock pro rs, I don't need WiFi and I've already got a 1tb WD 850x ready to go in
So my sticking point now is the CPU I could just chuck something like a 7600 in there they seem cheap enough at the moment chuck on pbo and wait out the next couple of years to see if something really special comes along I can chuck into the am5 socket.
Or I go 9700x and just leave it at that
Right now I'm leaning towards the 7600 route as even that will be destroying the current 3770k I'm running but I'm concerned it will still be a bottleneck at 5120X1440
