cpu or gpu?

i seem to be having a some what reoccuring problem with my rig. after about 1 hour of gaming my pc will crash to a randomly coloured screen. the BF4 will crash to a black screen with no sound but the F.E.A.R 2 will crash to a grey screen with dark grey/ black lines.

it only happens on some games though. it happens on BF4 and F.E.A.R 2 but not on south park. i know that isnt much to go off and i dont get to play my pc much so cant tell if there is a pattern with anything. but i do know it only happens after 1 hour of playtime.

now do gpu and cpu crashes differ from one and another?
My cpu is overclocked but passes a stress test for at least 3 hours. ( i no it needs longer)
i am going to stress test my gpu though my gpu is not overclocked.
temps are fine.
what can cause a crash like this after 1 hour?

Ok I know this sounds stupid but is there A button in the bios I can press to set everything back to standard with no overclock? As I can't remember the voltage it used to be set to for 3.5ghz? Could my psu cause crashing after 1 hour of gaming? I tried stress testing my CPU again today using occt and when it go to just before 4 hours my computer restarted. So does that mean my overclock isn't stable or something is wrong power wise? Because my rig restarted occt created no graphs to look at. But I know temps were fine as I kept checking the monitor every 10 mins.

ok i restored the bios to "optimised setting" and it all went back to before the overclock however this seems to have made the issue worse. it now crashed after about 20-30 mins of playing bf4. only this time it crashed to black screen and then the no signal message come on the monitor. i have tried re applying my previous oc but the problem still stays the same.
help :(
