Ok so I'v managed to over clock my AMD Phenom II 965 BE to 3.8Ghz without any hitches, apart from one...
First I used the AMD overdrive program to change the clock to 3.6GHz but wanted to see if I could run a little higher without cooking the machine. So I used the BIOs instead, it works fine up till I use something like Prime95 to stress test then suddenly it lowers back to stock clocks.
The CPU is on a Asus m4A758td-v evo which has a core unlocker facility and I was wondering if this might be the reason...
Could anyone shed some light on this dilemma please.
Thank you
P.S Is it a possibility that something like EPU engine is lowing the clocks, it is designed to do that to save on power.
