Hi. In my bios, my Cpu overclock in mhz, will not boot into windows over 237. Hit a ceiling of 2.3gig using a 166 divider. Tried multipliers of 8/8.5/9.0 and 9.5. Adjusted the Vid also, but windows will just not have it. I have thought that the HT Link could be the problem. Am i missing something obvious  Ram is running at 187mhz.

Would help if you said which CPU you had, but leave your Multi at 10x or whatever it is stock and lower your HT Multi down to 4x. (Assuming you are running an AMD cpu)

Hi. Toledo Core 3800X2. The HT multi is set at 4x (have set to 3x also) as default in my bios, as it appears anyway. Rightly or wrongly, i have been thinking that, perhaps i have hit the cpu's ceiling? Havn't had any significant from 2.3. I'll try what you said and leave the muliti on 10x. Thanks :)

Sorry guys, have been a bit vague. Ok here are my mobo and ram specs..

DFI lanparty UT nF3 Ultra-D mobo, with bios rev
OCZ PC3200 1Gig Platinum DDR400.

Not sure what is happening, but once i reach a 237 overclock in mhz, i simply can't boot into windows. If i try to increase the Voltage, my computer just does not post. This occurs no matter what multi etc.. I have thought it could be the Ram, but i have had it running at 225mhz (not comprehensively stress tested though)

*Got the Cpu upto 2.4gig on a voltage of 1.424v. I think before in the i was trying too much of an increase to soon, in terms of increments. Anyway thanks for your input guys! Once i have worked out how much voltage i can apply, hopefully i can push the Cpu further.*

You may need to up the voltage on the ram aswell.

Everything i've heard about OCZ ram has been good clocking wise, its a bit strange if its hitting the wall so low. Maybe you should stress test your computer (prime95, memtest etc) with everything at stock to make sure you dont have any problems.

I know what you mean... I think the volatage could go higher, but i have not arrived at an answer, as to what the limit is! This at the moment, seeming quite impossible. Windows will just not boot on anything above

I therefore can't learn. I'm quite wary of this, because i obviously do not want to make a costly mistake. I don't know what action to execute.

My ram voltage is on 2.8v, it can go higher. I think though, that this is not the problem, because they can handle this on 1T 2.5/3/2/7 200mhz. Atleast this how i see it. I will try your suggestion, thanks!

I can not believe i have topped out! Please advise on whether i am missing something?

Tried overvolts 1.5 on the Cpu and 2.9 on the ram. Wouldn't budge. I think i know what is wrong. Having a, not very good case, won't help.
