is there such a thing that i can just run it on my pc and itll overclock my cpu as i really cand o it myself, i have an AMD 3800+ 2.41GHz Single Core so is there any software?

Thanks you so much to anyone who replys

If you really want to use software to overclock download ClockGEN, this will allow you to up the FSB providing your motherboard is supported which most are.

But as above, the best way to overclock is always through the BIOS.

You might have overclocked your processor too far.

What FSB did you try and set?

Make sure your PCI-E bus is locked in the BIOS also, as this can cause problems with overclocking if it is running faster than its meant to.

Try setting the FSB to 205 using clockgen and if that works try 210htt. That'll give you slight increase in CPU clock speed.

but i already have a clock speed of 2.64 from n.o.s overclock.

i dont know how to lock my pci slots ither :(

i only noved it like 2 upwards not even 5 and my pc crashed out would it help if i told you what mobo i have

It would help somebody who had the same or a very similar motherboard as they would know where the setting is in the BIOS to lock the PCI-E bus.

If you already have over 2.6GHz you might be on the verge of needing more vcore...try setting the vcore to 1.45v in the BIOS from the original 1.35 (assuming you haven't already done this) that might allow for some overclocking headroom.

Hmmm maybe your motherboard doesn't allow you to change this but I have yet to see a new mobo that can't allow the vcore to be changed. When in the BIOS and over the vcore setting, did it change if you press +?

If anyone has the same motherboard they may know how to lock the PCI-E bus, maybe in advanced chipset settings?

well i did find the CPU Core voltage at i changed it from 1.40-1.50-1.60 it worked kinda at 1.50 but then crashed out and was still lower than my CPU on N.O.S so io just set it back to that.

Okay. If you want to overclock further make sure your htt link it set to 1000mhz or below. When over 250htt set the htt link multiplier to 3x to keep it below 1000, above 1000 and crashes occur sometimes and between 200 and 250 htt set it to 4x. This is sometimes referered to as the LDT bus, if you have this option when between 200 and 250mhz set it to 800 and when between 250 and 300 htt set it to 600mhz.

Also, what memory are you running? Try setting it to a 166 divider if its not already on one.

I dont understand why the same overclock with 'N.O.S' can't be acheived with clockgen as they will work exactly the same way as each other.

i have 2gig 800MHz Geil ram running at 880MHz.

so the ram is already overclocked a bit, maybe its holding the overclock back? If you set a divider I reckon it may allow the CPU to be pushed further. :)

Me too, I dont know how to work out the memory frequency from the divider its set to and the htt of the mobo...but when I set my mobo to 166 divider it clocks the memory to 227mhz when htt is at 275 I think.
