Well don't know if you all saw my post before Christmas but the pc ordered didn't work.

New one arrived asked overclockers to build it install OS+drivers so it is ready to plug and play, was guarenteed this over the phone.
Now the CPU is apparently overheating, no the fan isn't loose, yes it is spinning.
Oh and the pc being ready to plug and play tge graphics card wasn't plugged in.

Anyone got any ideas before I ship the whole lot back to ocuk for a second time.

Which one is it? Post in the customer service forums, and how is it overheating? What says it is?

Is the heatsink loose? (Not the fan)

Because after 3 shutdowns it goes to error CPU overheated on a black screen, f1 to resume and wait 10 secs or so and it'll shutdown.

Just taken the cooling fan and heatsync off and putting back on, time to pray

Well yeah no stickers for fragile is abit of a shambles

how can I download that monitor if it overheats before I get to desktop mate, even shutsdown on bios

if its over heating then you have bad contact with the heat sink by either
1 - no or inferiour thermal paste
2 - not seated properly
3 - fan not running or not running fast enough
4 - your cpu is ready to go supernova

any of the first 3 = easy fix
run if its 4.....

There is definately paste
overclockers installed windows, so clearly this machine can work
putting fan and heatsync back on, bit of a ******* to get on

1) It'd have to be no paste, inferior paste wouldn't cause a heat shutdown.
3) Even if the fan wasn't running it should take a relatively long time to get too hot, assuming it's a decent cooler.

I'd say it has to overwhelmingly be 2), and most likely caused by a courier bashing it.

You need to either open up the case and remount the cooler, or contact OcUK for a return/replace.

touch a radiator pipe to ground yourself then pull out the battery on the motherboard....leave it out for 2 minutes put it back then repower up.....

Sounds like the overclock could be causing the problem. That was the problem i had with my pre-built ocuk system, have to have it running stock but cant be doing with there rma service again to have it sorted.
