Improve airflow in the case (intake/exhaust) - reseat HSF and apply a thin layer of TIM. Upgrade the HSF.

with regards to the airflow/intake, i dont think is the problem. everything was fine when i first built the pc.idle temps were around 30 for cpu. its been recently that the temps have just shot up. *** could be wrong

How long ago did you build it? Fans by default create a lot of dust in your case, if you give it a good spring clean, it should help lower your temps. Good airflow is key though.

around 2yrs. i clean it out regularly, there isnt really any dust and the fans arent clogged up in any way. something must have happened for the temp to shoot up like that
