CPU Overheating?

Hi there just a quick question, speedfan, reports my CPU temperature to be around 48-50 degrees, when idle, and it must go up to about 55 ish when playing games, does this seem a little high, or am I getting worked up over nothing? I did have a bit of trouble fitting the supplied fan (yes I'm dumb :p ) but I got there in the end.....

EDIT: spec is in sig and I'm using the retail fan :)

Thanks for the replies guys, no it isn't overclocked which is why I was a bit worried, and I haven't changed anything whatsoever with regards to voltage...I have an Antec Sonata and so I have used that "thing" that allows you to kool both the gfx card and the CPU giving me a total of 3 case fans. The temp of my system is only 37 degrees. With regards to reseating the CPU, the reason I dont want to do this is because when I was installing the CPU, I stupidly took off the metal hook that holds the CPU in place thinking it didn't need to be there . In my stupidity, I realised what I had done and then proceeded to take off the fan, at which point the thermal compound had stuck the CPU to the fan and I had to "peel" it off. I think this is probably why its overheating. So I might just have to take off the fan and then re-apply some AS :) Thanks for the input guys

Looks like i might have to take the HSF off and re-apply some arctic silver then.....Anybody have any idea how much you are supposed to use? Im not really good with this kinda stuff :)

I had to re-open this thread because I have done the above mentioned stuff i.e. reseated my heatsink and still my temps are saying 54C under load and 48-50 idle. I know this is really quite high. Could it be because I have used the exhaust thing that came with my Sonata II ? It has 2 Ambers in there and the case temp is saying around 35C which I think is ok. What do you guys think? Reckon I should take the exhaust thing out and see if temps decrease? or maybe I should just buy a better cooler....this comp is costing me more and more

Hmm thanks for your help, what I might do then is to move the 120MM fan at the back of the case to the front to blow air in, as coretemp is saying the CPUs are 57C idle!!! Looks like I might just have to invest in a freezer 7 pro. Unless there are any other suggestions as to what I can do?
