Ok. think I found my problem with stutter etc in games. My CPU is a I7 3770k 4 core 8 logical cores at 3.5ghz. I have gone into 'resource monitor' and seen on the right hand side the 8 cores. From CPU 0 to 7 which are the 8 cores, CPU 1, CPU 3, CPU 5, CPU 7 are parked. Should I unpark these and will it make a difference?. Thanks.

Hi. I am using windows 7 home 64. I just looked at a youtube video and they said to go to regedit and find 0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583

Change Value max and value min to 0. My value min in the regedit is 0 but Value max is set to.

Value max. 0x00000064 (100)
Value min 0x000000 (0)

- Go to Regedit

- Find this key:- " 0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583 "

- Within this key, there is a value called: " ValueMax "

- This value represents the % number of cores the system will park - the default 100% ie: all Cores are potentially park-able

- Change the value from 64 to 0 so the " ValueMin " and " ValueMax " are both zero

- You will have to find the key a few times and repeat the process for each time it is found - the number of instances will depend on the number of power profiles in your system

- Do a full shutdown and power-off and cold-re-start

Well I don't no if its a placebo effect but I just tried AC4 Black flag which I no not an optimized game to begin with for PC but it does seem smoother. The view distance seemed to improve as be for it looked like it was beaming in and had a blue hologram effect be for the buildings etc appeared but that seem to have gone. This want melt the CPU will it. I do have a Noctua NH-D14 Cooler and Antec High Current Pro HCP-850. Although I am not bothered as it will be an excuse to buy a new Pc. But if I can run this down to ground for another 1 year at most I would be pleased.

Well Going to keep changing it back and to 64 and 0 to see if it does make a difference as CPU total on resource monitor says its using 100% just typing this. Will see if its same at 64 when parked.

Honestly you shouldn't really worry about it in most cases. Core 1,3,5 and 7 are HT cores so basically are the spare resources from the main cores. That way the system will prioritise the main cores before shifting the load onto the HT cores.

For games that can take advantage of multiple cores however, it's worth having parking off.

This. You don't want the OS to allocate a hyperthread for a busy core when there's an idle core somewhere else. I'd leave core parking well alone.
