CPU Paste vs AS5

Lo folks, advice needed:

bought a 3700 (KACAE, fingers crossed) but it comes with thermal paste already - Do I:

i. Remove that and add AS5
ii. Add AS5 on top of that (that cant be good)
iii. just leave well enough alone ffs and use the paste thats on it.

I intend to oc with an aim to get to 2.6, the fan is an arctic freezer pro so I want as much benefit as poss.

I find white spirit and cotton buds works well. Once used water on a hsf fan and it came out all blotchy, ah noob.

In any event thanks for the replies, in the end I installed the bleeding fan the wrong way round so had to pull it up and turn it round with metal paste all over the place, now I figure ill just pull it up again, clean it and put down some AS5 as ive botched it so badly.

Finally, my sig is probably the greatest computer ever built, ill never forget Elite on the BBC B.
