CPU power adapter

Hi, Just got an ASRock 990FX EXTREME3. However, when I go to plug the power supply in I see there is an 8 pin connector on the board. Unfortunately, my power supply does not have an 8 pin that reaches.

Could somebody kindly point me in the direction of an adapter that would help with this. I have seen this:

Is it the sort of thing I need?

What PSU and case? It's fairly odd for them not to reach...

Thank you. That's the trouble with the power supply at the bottom of the case and the motherboard connectors at the top.
