Hi all,

Ive just got one problem with folding on one PC that gets used - when I start the service you cant work on the PC, it wont load any sites or even attempt to and programs take far too long to open which left me thinking the priority was set to normal but its set to low on the task manager.

Is there anyway to set this to idle without having to reinstall the service as its quite a way through a unit, if this will fix the problem?

Thanks for any help.

are you using win2000 on it perchance? i used to get the same problem running seti on my dad's win2000 machine when it was run at the default priority - folding ran happily with the "idle" setting

you don't have to uninstall the service - just stop it and run the console with the -configonly switch (instructions in the sticky) and check the priority setting in the advanced configuration

Its got 512MB DDR, I had to reinstall the service as I couldnt figure out how to get the client to start with the -configonly switch. I think the unit was a Gromac.

It always seems alright when the service is installed and running so I can see the client minumised but its when the system gets rebooted and the client can't be seen the trouble starts. The cpu priority is definitely set to idle now so I will just try not to reboot it.
